Bike path from Breckenridge to Frisco

Type: Paved trail
Rating: Easy
Distance: 9.5 miles one way.
Elevation: 9,600 - 9,050 feet
Season: April to November

Most of our customers will ride the paved bike path that starts here in Breckenridge and takes you to Frisco, 9+ miles one way. Frisco is a great place to stop and grab lunch. If you feel good and want to go further, you can venture up the bike path to Copper for an uphill workout OR head around Lake Dillon for a flatter scenic route. Ask at the shop for detailed instructions. Remember, you're at 10,000 ft, oxygen is limited!

**Note**
You lose about 600 ft. of elevation from Breckenridge to Frisco and there's usually a headwind on the ride back, so keep some extra energy in the tanks for the ride home!

Dillon Reservoir:

Type: Loop ride using paved trails and roads.
Rating: Easy - More Difficult
Distance: 18 Miles
Elevation: 9,025 - 9,500 feet
Season: April to November

The best location is the Snake River Inlet parking lot in Dillon just north of the Swan Mountain Road intersection on Highway 6. Follow Highway 9 North toward Frisco for about 7 miles and turn right at Swan Mountain Road (Summit high School in on the left). Follow Swan Mountain Road until it ends and turn left onto Highway 6 at the stoplight. Make an immediate left into the parking lot. From this point you can ride a relatively level path all the way around 3/4 of the lake and end up in Frisco. From Frisco you can choose to turn around and ride back or continue around on Swan Mountain Road back to the Snake River Inlet. Swan Mountain Road has an elevation gain of 500 feet and a section that is on the road so it is not recommended for small children.

Breckenridge Mountain Bike Park: The Peak 8 Fun Park offers great biking opportunities for the whole family with lift assisted mountain biking. Breckenridge offers trails designed for beginners to expert and a mountain bike park with all kinds of features. Click here to see the Breckenridge Mountain Summer Trail Map.

Peaks Trail: Click Here

Type: Mountain Trail (Breck to Frisco)
Rating: Moderate - More Difficult
Distance: 16.2 Miles (8.1 miles one way)
Elevation: 9,100 (starting) 10,200 (highest)
Season: April to November

The Peaks trail is one of the most well-known mountain biking trails in Summit county. It's no surprise - this trail has something for just about everyone. The sections near Frisco are rooty and technical enough to challenge riders who like those things, there are some great big mountain views at the halfway point of the ride, and it's long enough with a bit of climbing to make it feel like a big ride.

The trail can definitely be ridden from either Frisco or Breck, and you can even choose to ride the paved bike path to Breckenridge and take the trail back to make things easier. But out and back from Frisco (as mapped) is my favorite way to ride it - the climbing is all rideable, and it's a nice challenge.
